What to Expect During Medical Detox

Intake & Assessment (Day 1)

You’ll meet with medical staff, nurses, counselors, and a psychiatrist. We’ll review your medical history, substances used, and any co-occurring mental health conditions. A personalized treatment plan is developed.

Stabilization & Withdrawal Management (Days 2-7)

Medical staff monitor vital signs and withdrawal symptoms. Medications may be provided to ease discomfort. Nursing staff checks on you regularly. Individual counseling begins.

Transition Planning (Days 5-7)

As physical withdrawal stabilizes, counseling intensifies. You’ll meet with your case manager to plan the next phase: residential treatment, outpatient care, or step-down programming.

Aftercare Planning

Before discharge, a comprehensive aftercare plan is created. This may include residential treatment, intensive outpatient program (IOP), support group meetings, and weekly alumni groups.
